After 50 years of living in modern society, Finca Aquarius owner Jan began seeking freedom from worldly pressures. His journey led him to explore various continents, cultures, and ancient philosophies. A couple of years ago, he found his answers and chose to use his knowledge to establish a self-sufficient eco homestead in Costa Rica.

Nature is the ideal place to reconnect, reducing stress and fostering joy. Our finca features friendly dogs for cuddling and horses that greet visitors. A highlight is the flat mountaintop, offering views of the valley and Nicoya Bay, with soaring vultures and lifting clouds. Enjoy peace, fresh air, fertile soil, and no disturbances at our finca.

We strive to be fully self-sufficient on our farm by producing our own electricity, filtering water, and growing as much of our food as we possible can ourselves or with our community. We mainly use a water turbine for power and are happy to demonstrate the setup. We invite guests to share lunch or dinner and join in preparing the meals.

Jan - Future Vision
Our future vision is to expand our finca to share it with others. We plan to build more homes for private ownership and rentals, creating retreats that help people reconnect with nature and find peace. Our vision goes beyond the finca; we want to be part of a supportive community that promotes personal responsibility and connection.
